Cupping therapy
Cupping therapy (or cupping massage) is an ancient treatment method that has its origins in traditional Chinese medicine. This alternative therapy uses “spheres” made of different materials, such as glass, plastic or silicone, to suck the skin vacuum. The cuppings are silicon-based. By squeezing the cupping, a vacuum is created on the skin surface. The silicone cupping is easy to move on the skin if lightly rubbed with Wax or Cream in advance.
What happens during a Cupping massage?
As a result of the vacuum, the skin is partly sucked into the cup which draws blood to the treated area. Consequently, the
perfusion of the fascial network improves and the body disposes of waste faster (via the pores).
A cupping treatment feels like a firm massage. It reaches the deeper layers of skin as well, stimulates relaxation and restores balance in the body. Regular cupping ensures a flexible and healthy fascial network. During the treatment, some local red spots may emerge. This is normal. The spots will disappear after a few days. Furthermore, the first treatment can be quite painful because of tissue tension.
